“Eat” her soup

投稿者: | 2013年10月3日

I have a confession to make.

My career as an English teacher may be coming to an end. My two-year-old daughter corrected my English the other day. I told her to hurry up and “eat” her soup. She stopped, looked at me, and announced that we cannot eat soup. We drink soup. She then explained that we drink milk, wine, tea, water, and she picked up her soup bowl to demonstrate how the action of drinking involves bringing a container to our lips and tilting the liquid in. After that she proceeded to explain what “eating” involves. She demonstrated with her spoon and some rice, if I remember correctly.

So sometime soon, my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter will be taking over my classes for me at Links. She now has all the answers.
